Ben Carson is so detached from African Americans that he’s trying to use rap as a way of getting approval.
If you check out the ad, it’s a little weird and cringeworthy. It features Ben Carson saying some things while a beat is playing in the background. It ends with him saying, “I approve this message.”
I believe that he’s not the only candidate to use rap for his campaign. Previous politicians have tried to use rap in the past to garner attention. This ad is a little hypocritical because Carson wrote on Facebook, “I have frequently criticized the Music/Rap industry for some of their degrading content. I wouldn’t describe myself as a fan of Rap Music in general.”
He probably knows that his policies aren’t favoured by African Americans so he’s trying his best to make a come back. Unfortunately, I don’t think rap music will work.

Ugh! Is all I have to say. I read one summary of his failed “cool” strategy on Daily Beast but I think the takedown fell on deaf ears. I’ve never seen someone work so hard to be mediocre. x
