We’ve seen movies where fraudsters use technological advancements to compose fake passports. Then those same passports are used for immigration, trafficking, and drug trading. It’s sometimes reassuring to know that these fraudsters aren’t taking our identities, but in reality, things are a bit different.
While fake passports are still being used all around the globe, they prove to be an ineffective method due to technological advancements made by governments and anti-fraud agencies. Unfortunately, some fake passports do bypass security but those are rare cases in countries that have loose regulations. It’s good to know that most countries are adopting safety practices and technology to enhance their security.
For the next few days, I will be touching this issue and talking about different aspects such as why it’s being done and the statistics.
