Uncooperative. Lazy. Careless.
It’s an issue that everyone has experienced with their group members. It’s definitely frustrating if you’re ambitious about your project/work and you want to get it done(on time).
One thing that I’ve never experienced was contentment due to the work achieved by my peers. That was a bit of an overstatement. However, this is one of the reasons I dislike group work. Maybe my expectations are too high or those around me are incompetent of completing basic tasks.
Just an intro…
I feel your pain! I have never been a lover of group work, but a lot of my “adult” life has involved it anyway. There’s a line somewhere about balancing leadership with team motivation – still working on it!

The stakes are much higher when you’re an adult. For students, there’s not much of a financial incentive so there’s sometimes very little motivational effort.

True! And it’s doubly frustrating when you don’t have choice or control over the cooperative work… We have to get better at guiding students to work on things that interest and motivate them, without so much teacher direction.

It can be so frustrating when your heart is in a project and your team members’ aren’t. Especially as you are ‘marked’ by overall effort. Keep ploughing on and hopefully the others might see sense at some point. Although I do remember at school and Uni, those who would let others do all the work…grrr
