My sister enjoys changing her Lego Friends figurines. It’s a cute thing to watch as she changes the legs, heads, and torso. The three sets shown in the picture are completed without hesitancy.
The minute she turns on the TV, stories on racial stereotypes, killings, and beatings overwhelm her. She turns off the TV and is unable to comprehend the reasoning behind the violence. However, she has the capability to question the actions of authoritative figures.
Immediately, she goes back to playing with her Lego figurines and often wonders if the real world can ever get along. What she longs for also happens to be everyone’s ideal plan.
…To be just like her Lego Friends.
